Files include correspondence, statements, recommendations, hand-written notes, press releases, documents and memoranda relating to the President's Advisory Committee on Labor-Management Policy (1961-1968), covering the following topics and issues: "free and responsible" collective bargaining; industrial peace; wage and price policies; standard of living and productivity; increasing American foreign trade; wage-price guideposts; workmen's compensation; "cost-push" inflation; state of the economy; governmental policy necessary to encourage economic upswing; relation of collective bargaining to the public interest; fact-finding procedures; the structure of bargaining units in the United States; economic growth; full economic recovery; automation and technological change; corporate pension funds; unemployment; the Employment Act of 1946; report of the Sub-Committee on Foreign Trade; youth unemployment; taxes; strikes in the maritime industry; monetary and fiscal policies of the Kennedy administration; and the Manpower Development and Training Act (1962). Also included are numerous reports and documents issued by the Council of Economic Advisors (1967-1968) on the impact of wage and price guidelines used by the President's Advisory Committee in making recommendations to the president.
